Just To See You Chase Me
The final track on STRAND's debut E.P., "Every Thought I Ever Had".
A slow, powerful song with haunting vocals and lush string
Formed in 2001 in Northern Colorado, alternative rock trio Strand are brothers John (lead vocals/keyboards) and Bobby Strand (lead vocals/guitars), and former The Turning drummer Erik Johnson. Decribed as "oil and water," much of the artistic energy of the brothers Strand is defined by their commitment to remain close despite personal or artistic differences, with a payoff being their continually expanding catalog of explosive and compelling songs, subtly influenced by world-class artists ranging from Creed and Vertical Horizon, to Bruce Hornsby and Coldplay.
Beginning piano lessons at age ten, John’s interests began to expand under the influence of artist and songwriter Michael W. Smith. Bobby first picked up his father's acoustic "beater" at age thirteen, and has studied under Loveland CO’s Dave Parsons and Dave Beegle.
In 2000, local producer Stephan Hoff discovered and further encouraged the duo’s songwriting talent. Hoff has since spent many hours with the brothers helping them lay down early demo tracks.
A year and a half into college, John left to pursue a full-time internship with popular recording artist, producer, and former Wind Machine member Taylor Mesple. Bobby has continually expanded both his acoustic and electric guitar playing techniques as Strand continue to develop a full-time concert schedule and solid regional fan base. Performing both original as well as popular cover songs, they have already appeared at many local venues and festivals across the Front Range, including winning top honors at a local 2001 Battle of the Bands competition.
